I'm hot, sweaty, tired, and I'm out of clean clothes, and there's nothing I can do to improve the situation right now.
I get to the condo and my brother tels me that the shower is still "under construction", which it has been for a week now. We had to get the entire bathtub, shower fixture, and half the bathroom ripped out to replace a diverter that was leaking water into the walls of the place, and the construction had gone on all last week. The plumbers left with just particle board up in the shower area, and on Monday my brother said he was going to paint the whole shower area himself. On Wednesday he finally decided that he wasn't going to be up to the task, and that we were going to have to hire a professional painter to do the job. So basically, there's no showering/bathing at the place, and this has been going on for a week and a half. CRAP!
So I go down to do a load of laundry since I'm out of clean clothes and want to at least get a set of pants and work clothes done for tomorrow.. my washing machine makes a terrible noise and can't agitate any of the clothes, the tub just sits there and the belts make a nasty burning-rubber smell. It can spin the tub for the spin cycle, but not for agitating, and so I have to schlep all my wet dirty laundry out of the tub to look at it. At about 2 AM, I say screw it and decide to look at it later.
I have to work tomorrow, and I don't have clean clothes, or a decent shower. This SUCKS!
Not only that, but there weren't any parking spaces anywhere near the new place, I had to park like 5 blocks away and hike. It's bad enough that I'm losing my house in Mountain View, but I'm losing my driveway too! I hate this shit. Goddamn economic downturn wipes me out and drives me out of my house, and now I'm dirty, tired and without clean clothes.
Time to have several beers. Good thing I brought a 12-pack.
