To Confiur or not to Conifur...

I'm still trying to figure out whether to go to Conifur NW up in Seattle/Tacoma, which is
this coming weekend, starting Friday. Originally I wasn't going to be able to go, since my plane flight to see relatives was going to be that weekend, but we had to postpone it to November. So suddenly the opportunity opens up last week to go up to Conifur, but all the plane ticket prices are sky-high since the clock has pretty much run out on affordable fares. Right now most of the airlines are asking $350 and above to fly to Seattle and back, and even Southwest (Cattle Car Airlines) wants $250 round trip. Geez, and the airline biz wonders why people don't fly any more.

So I'm thinking I may very well just get in the HawkMobile and drive all the way up there, but geez, it's 800+ miles to Seattle across some pretty mountainous territory. And I wouldn't be able to swing that in a day, that's definitely a day-and-a-half sort of drive. I'm trying to find out if anyone wants to drive with and split the driving, sine then it would be a lot more doable.
I've done road-trips to San Diego and to Arcata by myself, but 650 miles is about my limit any more when it comes to driving in one shot. And that's on a good day.

Ah well, I suppose I can always save my money and just wait for FC 2003. But I've only been to two cons so far this whole year (FC 2002 and Comic-Con) and really have been wanting to do this one in Seattle for the last few years. Anyone want to go to Tacoma?
